Atwood revisited

the sequestered nooks
and all the sweet serenity of books.”~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Recently, I learned my friend Anne ranks Atwood amongst her favorite authors and thus inspired, I decided to revisit Ms. Atwood’s work despite my revulsion toward The Handmaid’s Tale. Perusing Amazon’s selections, I found Atwood’s version of the Odysseus myth (via the Canongate series) which seemed like the perfect place to restart.

Margaret Atwood’s The Penelopiad has had some good reviews and since I’ve already begun research on a future book starring Roman goddesses, the doyenne of Canadian literary fiction just might turn the spark of my novel idea into a firework.

I’ll be sure to post a review of the book here when I’m finished so stay tuned.
